November has come and gone, and before long it will be Christmas! How time flies! So what have we been getting up to here at MBG?
The next map scheduled for release is a festive multiplayer mini game called Workshop Wars: Christmas Edition. In the game, two teams of elves face off to see who can win the race to craft Christmas presents as quickly as possible! We are working frantically to get the map ready in plenty of time for Christmas, so stay tuned! If the map proves popular, we will also make a non-festive version of the map – the Business Edition – for the other 11 months of the year.
We’re not only creating new maps though; we’re also working on improving old ones. A small bugfix is in store for There is no Learning Curve 2. We are also expanding our translations, with the Finnish translation released (thanks Jani!) and the German localisation currently in progress (thanks no_leaf_clover!).
Where Prismatic is concerned, we have been patiently waiting for the release of 1.9 before making any changes; however, Mojang is taking longer than expected with the update so we any issue a bugfix before then. The changes are small – a few parkour simplifications and bug fixes – but is proving problematic for some players, so we’re going to try to find a slick solution for that minority group. That said, we are incredibly happy with how well Prismatic has been received, having now been downloaded over 7000 times.
As we are attempting to expand inside and outside of Minecraft, we are looking at developing independent games to subsidise development costs. MaybeLaterx is learning how to use Unity in an attempt to make Prismatic as a stand-alone game, hopefully submitting it to Steam in the long run.
We at MBG now have several paths we can go down for new games. Maps in development include Workshop Wars: Business Edition, our racing game, Prismatic 2 and E4R7H. Please let us know which one(s) you are most eagerly anticipating on the forum! It helps us to prioritise the content you enjoy. Furthermore, if you are keen to join our team of builders working on the racing game, please let us know! It’s a monumental building task so we could use as much help as we can get.
That’s all for November!
‘Til next time,
The MBG Team
