Previous – Dev Log #13: Animate, Animate, Animate
Sorry for the radio silence – it’s been a busy for months in the Mental Block Gaming offices! We are now proud to unveil our teaser trailer for RogueQuest! Bear in mind that this isn’t the full trailer, merely a short montage of the story for those who have been patiently waiting so long for our release!
The feedback we’ve had so far has been positive, albeit some people are a bit confused by the lack of gameplay. It’s a tough balance! We could show in game footage, but it’s nowhere near as compelling as the scenes we’ve meticulously crafted.
As for an actual update, we’ve been pushing on with Tyler’s cutscenes, and now #1, #2, #3, #4, and half of #6 are ready. We’re about to start work on #5, after which Tyler should be all wrapped up! Once Tyler is ready, there is just one character left – Joel – which means we’ll be 6 cutscenes and 1 official trailer away from completion! I’d normally be happy at the thought of being 3/4 of the way done, but given how long each of those quarters have lasted I’m still a little dismayed by it all. xD Nonetheless, we’re working hard and it will be done in due time. My provisional target date for release is around the beginning of August – but DO take that with a pinch of salt, as anything can happen! (We know this all too well by now… I said this map would be ready in March… -.-)
In other news, our musician has just wrapped up his final composition and the official game soundtrack is ready to go! You can have a listen to some of the track’s on Protocat’s Soundcloud. Go show him some support!
